Kate is a Registered Clinical Social Worker who values evidence-based, strengths-based, collaborative, and trauma-informed approaches. She currently works within Horizon Health Network in Mental Health and Addictions, supporting individuals and families, with a specialization in ADHD.
Holding a Master’s degree in Community and Macro Social Work from Boston College, she firmly believes in addressing one’s environment alongside the development of personal skills. She has extensive experience working alongside First Nations and international cultural communities, with her work centred in cultural safety, humility, and anti-colonial practice.
As someone who is on the ADHD spectrum herself, and with over ten years of both practical and clinical experience supporting individuals with ADHD, Kate’s work is grounded in the belief that people do not need to be fixed, but supported in understanding how their brains work. ADHD is viewed as one of many ways a brain can function, with real challenges and meaningful strengths, and her focus is on helping clients work with their brains rather than against them.
Kate is trained in CBT, DBT, and Narrative Therapy, and views ADHD support—especially for youth—as a collaborative, family-involved process. Her work emphasizes practical strategies, education, and systems that align with how people naturally function.
Outside of work, Kate enjoys spending time in the woods with her border collie, kayaking, camping, and traveling. She also volunteers with international relief and refugee support initiatives and serves as a social work emergency responder during natural disasters.

Kudos to you for starting your search for the right therapeutic fit! Stepping out of your comfort zone is so tough, but it’s the first step on a journey towards personal growth. I believe a good level of self esteem is the best internal motivator, and acts as a foundation of mental wellness. I work to support my clients as they learn how to increase their self-compassion, make realistic goals, communicate effectively, and form healthy boundaries. I am an enthusiastic and knowledgeable supporter of queer, gender non-conforming, and trans communities! I also enjoy supporting newcomers to Canada and their families.
Should you choose to meet with me, in our first session I will likely use the metaphor that you are in the driver’s seat; and I am your copilot. You are the ultimate expert on yourself. I may make suggestions on what directions we could take, but I always want my clients to feel empowered during every step of the therapeutic process.
If you are dealing with issues relating to anxiety, depression, rumination, anger, relationship problems, and/or substance use, you don’t have to walk this path alone. I look forward to meeting you!
